On June 6, 2025, our herping tour in Lam Dong brought us face to face with some truly remarkable species. We encountered the striking Bungarus fasciatus, known for its vivid banded pattern, and the elusive Boiga cyanea, a beautifully colored cat snake. The tour also featured sightings of Pareas margaritophorus, a fascinating snail-eating snake. Alongside these standout reptiles, we discovered many other intriguing lizards and frogs, each adding to the rich biodiversity of the region. This unforgettable experience not only deepened our appreciation for Vietnam’s wildlife but also highlighted the importance of sharing these moments to inspire and educate others.

On April 25, 2025, during my herping tour in Lam Dong, I had the opportunity to observe a fascinating array of species that highlighted the region's rich biodiversity. Among the reptiles, I encountered Lycodon fasciatus and the unique Mount Bidoup Bent-toed Gecko (Cyrtodactylus bidoupimontis), a species endemic to the area. The amphibian spotting was equally impressive, with sightings of Pareas berdmorei and numerous intriguing frogs, each contributing to the vibrant ecosystem. The tour also revealed a variety of insects, adding further depth to the ecological experience. This journey vividly demonstrated how the diverse wildlife of Lam Dong offers endless opportunities for discovery and appreciation.

On February 20, 2025, during our herping tour in Lam Dong, we encountered a fascinating range of species that highlighted the region's diverse ecosystems. Among the reptiles, we observed the elusive Oligodon species and the striking Leiolepis belliana, showcasing the area's rich reptilian fauna. One of the tour's highlights was spotting the Mount Bidoup Bent-toed Gecko (Cyrtodactylus bidoupimontis), a species endemic to the local montane forests. Alongside these reptiles, we discovered many remarkable frogs and insects, each contributing to the vibrant tapestry of Lam Dong's wildlife. This journey offered a memorable glimpse into Vietnam’s unique biodiversity.
